Why a Certified Public Accountant?

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a fully qualified accountant and member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.

With over 5,000 members and students, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland is one of Ireland's main accountancy bodies.

The CPA qualification is recognised as equivalent to those of other statutory bodies in the EU and the qualification is included in the EC Directive on the recognition of professional qualifications - the Mutual Recognition Directive (89/48/EEC).

What do CPAs do?

CPA members and students work across a variety of roles in both practice and 'industry' including, sectors such as financial services, banking, manufacturing, construction, education and consultancy. The CPA Institute is an independent body controlled in Ireland however CPA Members work in over 28 countries worldwide!
